Scope Boundaries
In Scope
- Container registry and identity management
- Container movement history and event tracking
- Manifest context and voyage views
- Spreadsheet ingestion and normalisation
- Reference data deduplication and clean-up
- Indicative demurrage exposure estimation
Out of Scope
- Coastal Manifesting - we have an abbreviated shipping manifest system, in draft form, that was prepared prior to the study. It approaches transactions from a BoL rather than Container movement direction.
- Billing and invoicing — formal billing processes remain separate
- Accounting integration — no direct integration with accounting systems
- Analytics and dashboards — reporting is basic; no business intelligence layer. Internally, we have a plan for this.
- ERP replacement — this system complements, not replaces, existing ERP systems
- Mining System Modules - we are porting our equipment/ mining systems to the new format; elements may be relevent for general operations. They include:
- work shop systems
- scheduled maintenance
- condition monitoring
- equipment history
- fuel and oil monitoring
- trademen skills, qualification and appointment registers
- training course scheduling and attendance
- safety incident recording and followup
Rationale
This system focuses on operational container management and formalising existing spreadsheet-based practices.
Financial, analytical, and enterprise-wide functions remain with existing systems. Internally we drafted possible solutions.
